Spring Sports

Dan played baseball this spring and loved it.  Dan is one of those kids who is really fun to watch play sports.  He seems to do really well in whatever sport he tries, most likely because he has more energy than anyone I know.  He's just looking for an outlet and sports are a great way to get him worn out.
Here Dan is trying not to lap his own player, a problem we had during much of the season.

We're going to have to work on his "baseball ready" stance...

Dan was really fast running around the bases.  It was fun to watch his little legs motor around.  He was on a team with about 5 or 6 of his school friends, so he loved going to practice and games.

This is the first year that Aaron played spring soccer.  He really loves soccer, but had always wanted to play baseball in the spring.  I wasn't too keen on baseball at his level, since they have 4-5 practices a week and then a couple of games, so he agreed to try spring soccer.  His team wasn't so good, but he had a good time playing and helped his team score many of their goals.

Joshua decided to try tennis for the first time this spring.  He only had lessons once a week, which seemed to suit him just fine.  He actually really liked tennis, even though thus far hasn't really loved sports.  There were, unfortunately, a number of really hot days on the court, which made it hard to run around much without wilting.  I tried to get a good photo of him playing tennis like his father long ago, but I'll have to keep trying.

The expression on his face reminds me of some of Joe's kid pictures (he used to bite his lip when he was concentrating).

No sports for Maggie and Sam yet, thank goodness!  I need Joe back for when that starts - and a second car!
